4 Reasons LEDs are the Best Option for Your Lighting Needs

There are so many types of lighting available today, it may be hard to keep track of what will work best for you. Luckily, the newest technology on the market, Light-Emitting Diodes, or LEDs, is the best and brightest option, no matter what your needs may be. Stop spending money on bulbs you will have to replace time and time again, and invest in light bulbs that will last.

1. Energy Efficient: It is always nice to have a little extra money in your pocket, and by switching to LEDs, you can save quite a bit in the long run. LED technology allows you to save big on energy costs, and you won’t have to replace your bulbs for nine years or longer. This is because LEDs emit more light per watt than your everyday incandescent bulb. If a light goes out in your house, you will most likely replace with a 60-watt incandescent bulb. Amazingly, a 4 to 5-watt LED bulb will give off the same amount of light and last much longer. Many people experience a 50% reduction in their electric bill when switching from other types of bulbs to LEDs. Unlike compact fluorescent bulbs, LEDs don’t need any time to warm up, and light up to full brightness as soon as you turn them on.

2. Safe: Have you ever broken a light bulb before? What a hassle it is trying to clean up those tiny little shards of paper thin, but needle-sharp glass. Not only are LEDs more durable, as they don’t have a filament and don’t shatter as easily as traditional bulbs, but they have no mercury inside. LEDs are an environmentally friendly lighting option with no special recycling requirements, so when they do eventually die, you don’t have to go out of your way to throw them out. If you have children or pets that can reach your light fixtures, LEDs are a great choice because they generate much less heat than incandescent bulbs and are never hot to the touch. Turn it off, and immediately unscrew the bulb with no wait time!

3. Long Lasting: We will concede that the initial price tags of LED bulbs are higher than your other choices in the lighting aisle, but you will be pleased with the cost savings you’ll see over the lifetime of the bulb. The long lifespan of these bulbs mean fewer bulbs will be needed over time. While an average incandescent bulb lasts about 5,000 hours, you can expect your LED bulbs to last between 25,000 and 50,000 hours. Due to their long life, these bulbs can be used in fixtures where bulbs are not easy to change. Also, LED bulbs do not wear out as fast when you turn the lights on and off frequently.

4. High Quality: LEDs give off a crisp, bright light unlike any other because they produce about twice as many lumens as other types of light bulbs. They also come in a variety of styles and colors, so have fun choosing the type that is right for you.

LEDs are the future of lighting technology, so why not make the change today, and start saving earlier? Get higher quality, energy-efficient lights that will last by switching your incandescent and compact fluorescent bulbs out with LEDs.
